Wolves keen on Gerard Martin as Barcelona eye Alejandro Grimaldo

Wolves are reportedly interested in trying to sign Barcelona left-back Gerard Martin in the summer transfer window.

The update comes from journalist Matteo Moretto who reports the 23-year-old has caught the Premier League club’s eye.

Martin was a favourite of Hansi Flick’s last season, playing back-up to Alejandro Balde, and made 42 appearances in all competitions.

The defender also penned a contract extension in January until 2028 and said at the time he hoped to stay for “many years.”

The news comes at a time when Barcelona are, once again, said to be eyeing a potential move for Alejandro Grimaldo.

This is another rumor that comes around on a regular basis, and Mundo Deportivo are reporting that if Barca do sell Martin then they will go for Grimaldo.

The 29-year-old has regularly said he’d love to return to Barcelona, with recent reports claiming that a fee of around €18m may be enough to secure his signature.
