In the second, the fight appeared to come to an abbreviated end when Naurdiev landed an illegal knee on the grounded Park, cutting him over the eye and prompting referee Lukasz Bosacki to call a halt to the action. Park was cleared to continue, though, and Naurdiev was docked two points.
When the fight resumed, Park locked up with Naurdiev in search of a takedown, but Naurdiev resisted and proceeded to get his own takedown. Park was back to his feet with 90 seconds left, and he finally got the takedown, maintaining position on the mat until the horn.
In the third, Park dominated on the ground, nearly sinking in a rear-naked choke before the bout ended, securing his victory.
