NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Covidh Technologies(56.99%), Ecoplast Ltd(19.99%), Jainex Aamcol(19.98%), BNR Udyog(19.98%), Alfa Ica(19.79%), Ebixcash World Money(18.16%) and DCM Shriram (15.07%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 170.22 points down at 83239.47, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 48.11 points down at 25405.3.
In the Nifty50 index, 21 stocks closed in the green, while 29 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as DCM Shriram, Fluidomat Ltd, Shree Global, Sumeet Ind and Quality Power Electr hit their fresh 52-week high, while Omega Inter.Tech, Fine Line Circuits, Globe Civil Projects, Brand Realty and Kkrrafton Developers touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
