Shah Rukh Khan is lonely at the top; Jackie Shroff highlights the consequences of superstardom – Deets Inside |

Shah Rukh Khan, the actor who was fondly known as the ‘King Khan,’ has been ruling the entertainment industry with his unmatched skills and innate charm. However, Jackie Shroff recently recalled how the 59-year-old star used to sit alone during the shoot, adding that he must feel lonely at the top due to superstardom. In an interview with Viveky Lalwani, Jackie Shroff reflected upon his friendship with Shah Rukh Khan, who was his co-star in films like ‘Devdas’ and ‘King Uncle.’ He recalled watching Shah Rukh Khan sitting alone during the shoot of the film on the set. While he was respectful and charismatic, King Khan was also aloof.

Shah Rukh Khan was sitting alone…

“Akelapan, har actor ko ek lonely feel hona chahiye, mereko bola tha ye kisine. (Loneliness, every actor should experience a kind of loneliness, someone once told me),” Shroff said in the interview, before adding, “So I saw him sitting out there, on his own. He was playing my younger brother. And he was respectful, focused on his work, and he was charismatic and charming. But aloof. Like I was aloof, he was also aloof. I liked those vibes.”The ‘Ram Lakhan’ actor pointed out that before ‘Devdas,’ they had worked together in other films such as ‘One 2 Ka 4.’ However, it felt normal on the Bhansali’s film set, mentioning that the roles in ‘Devdas’ were such that it was natural to be sitting alone.

Once you are at the top…

He further quipped that once you reach at the insurmountable level of success, they start to feel lonely. I think if you go to the top of the Everest, you will just have your shadow. Otherwise, it’s lonely up there,” the ‘Hero’ actor said, adding that he felt the exact case of King Khan as well.
