Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini aim for Roland Garros 2025 in women’s doubles

Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini do not seem at all disturbed by the fact that they are one step away from achieving a historic feat with the two Olympic champions in the women’s doubles who have the possibility to put in their bulletin board also the Roland Garros 2025. About 10 ten months have passed since the games, but the attitude with which the Italian couple is facing this new challenge is always the same, as is always the same the field in Paris. Lots of smiles and that feeling of fun that the two transmit when you see them on the field or meet them away from the playing field.

This morning (11 am) on their way they will find the duo composed of the Serbian Aleksandra Krunic and from the Russian naturalized Kazakh Anna Danilina. This is a new tandem that, as outsiders in France, have shown all their value by eliminating much more experienced opponents including Townsend-Siniakova, the duo that had been judged the number 1 seed in this Slam. In reality, in 2023 they have already met Danilina who, however, on that occasion was playing in a pair with Panova in the quarterfinals of the Monastir tournament.

Sara and Jasmine won the Internazionali d’Italia a few weeks ago and the one at the Foro Italico was their second title of the season after the one in Doha and it was their sixth overall as a couple. In the specialty Race they are fourth and their goal is clearly to try to do better than the final they reached last year, when they were beaten by Gauff and Siniakova.

Winning this title also has an important economic significance. The two semi-finalist couples have already earned 147.500 euros each, thanks to a total prize of 295.000 euros, but the success would be worth double and each tennis player would receive 280.000 euros since the winning couple will win a loot of 590.000 euros.

Meanwhile, yesterday Lilli Gauff won the junior women’s singles, while among the seniors the cup was lifted by Coco Gauff.
