The much loved rural drama series ‘Panchayat’ Season 4 is back with its fourth season, and this time the elections rock the fictional village of Phulera.The 2 minute 39 second trailer features familiar faces like Jitendra Kumar and Neena Gupta, which has chaos all over the village and gets swept into the heat of election season.The trailer, which dropped on Wednesday June 11, offers a glimpse into the new season with the spotlight on Manju Devi played by Neena Gupta and Kranti Devi portrayed by Sunita Rajwar, who are locked in a fierce battle for the position of the village ‘Pradhan’.
The trailer includes political drama and has colorful rallies, campaign songs, loud promises, and humorous twists that bring the quirky residents of Phulera back into focus.The web series was initially slated to premiere on July 2, but the makers have now moved up the release date to June 24.The makers shared activity for Season 4’s launch was the role fans played in setting the premiere date. Through a specially created interactive website, fans were asked to vote for their favourite between Team Manju Devi and Team Kranti Devi. The live vote meter eventually determined the final release date.In the web series, Jitendra Kumar will be seen returning as Abhishek Tripathi, the reluctant city engineer-turned-Secretary, the story picks up with new challenges and his continued attempts to fit into village life. The previous seasons are filled with heartwarming moments, small-town politics, and laugh-out-loud humour.As per an IANS report, Jitendra Kumar, who returns as the beloved Sachiv ji in ‘Panchayat’ Season 4, opened up about what makes the show so special to him and the audiences alike. Sharing his thoughts ahead of the release, the actor described Panchayat as a “prime example of authentic storytelling” that continues to strike a chord with viewers across regions and age groups.He said, “Panchayat is a prime example of authentic storytelling that resonates across geographies, age groups, and viewing preferences.
