NXT star Noam Dar injured, forced to relinquish Heritage Cup Title

Noam Dar was scheduled to defend the NXT Heritage Cup Championship against Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo this Tuesday on the CW Network. However, plans have changed.

On Saturday, NXT General Manager Ava made a surprise announcement.

“Due to injury, Noam Dar will not be able to compete this Tuesday and will have to relinquish the NXT Heritage Cup Championship,” said Ava on X. “This Tuesday, Stacks (will) compete in a match to crown a new Heritage Cup Champion against an opponent to be named.”

Ava did not reveal the nature or timing of Dar’s injury. According to Cagematch.net, Dar’s last match took place June 13, when he defeated Lorenzo at an NXT live event in Lakeland, Florida.

Dar, 31, had previously been sidelined for 11 months due to a leg injury suffered in May 2024. He returned to action this April, defeating Lexis King to win his fourth Heritage Cup title. He remained active in NXT’s live events and WWE’s Speed division, most recently losing to Berto in the men’s tournament.

Tuesday’s NXT episode will feature two title matches. Trick Williams will defend the TNA World Title against Josh Briggs. At a TNA iMPACT! taping Friday, it was announced that Joe Hendry will challenge for the title next month at Slammiversary.

Hendry lost the title to Williams in May at Battleground. A rematch between them is expected, making a title change against Briggs unlikely.

Nevertheless, a new Heritage Cup champion is guaranteed, as “Stacks” Lorenzo will face an opponent to be named.
