New Hampshire weather: Chance for storms Tuesday

The summer heat is building back to start the holiday week, with severe weather possible for some on Tuesday.

Monday night expect increasing clouds as the night wears on. It will turn more muggy overnight.

STORM CHANCES TUESDAY

It will be a bit unsettled to start things Tuesday morning, with some early clouds and scattered downpours and a possible thunderstorm. Those will break for some sunshine late morning into the afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely for some the afternoon and evening.

Some of the storms could be strong or possibly severe, with impacts including downpours, localized flooding, strong wind gusts, lightning and maybe hail.

After the storm chances fade, it will be less humid but pleasantly warm for Wednesday, with highs in the 80s expected.

Expect sunshine with a few scattered showers and thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon and very early evening with highs in the 80s for many.

FOURTH OF JULY FORECAST

For July Fourth on Friday, sunshine with some clouds mixing in. A low chance of a spot pm shower. Highs will top out in the 70s for most areas.

For fireworks shows in the evening, expect some clearing with temperatures in the low 70s for many areas.

After the holiday, a warm weekend is likely with plenty of sunshine.
