Man dies after accident at Tuscaloosa’s BFGoodrich Manufacturing Plant

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – An employee at BFGoodrich Manufacturing Plant in Tuscaloosa has died following an accident June 22.

The employee was exposed to high voltage electricity and suffered severe injuries, according to authorities.

No criminal act is suspected at this time. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was notified and are working with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Medical Examiner and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

VCU’s involvement is in conducting a preliminary investigation alongside the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The investigations into any related work conditions will be conducted by OSHA.

Michelin, the company that owns BFGoodrich, released the following statement:

To protect family privacy, it is the practice of the VCU to not release identifying information about individuals unless part of a criminal investigation.
