After quietly winning hearts in theatres, Tamil cinema’s surprise family hit Maaman is now gearing up to delight a wider audience with its upcoming digital and television premiere. Starring Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles, the film released on May 16 and soon gained popularity through word-of-mouth success, thanks to its emotional storytelling and relatable themes. Directed by Saravanan, Maaman tells a tender tale of unconditional love, misunderstandings, and redemption, centred on the deep bond between Inba (Soori) and his mischievous nephew, Laddu. Their relationship, once marked by affection and playfulness, begins to unravel when Inba falls in love with Rekha (Aishwarya Lekshmi) and marries her. As domestic tensions rise and Laddu’s behaviour becomes increasingly disruptive, the couple makes the tough decision to relocate to Madurai.
