Israel keeps up Iran strikes after deadly missile barrage
Israel continued its intense bombardment of Iran on Sunday, targeting a defense ministry facility and fuel depots amid the fiercest direct clashes between the two nations in their history. The strikes followed Iranian missile attacks on Israel that killed at least 10 people overnight, bringing Israel’s death toll to 13 since Friday. In Tehran, Israeli airstrikes set two fuel depots ablaze, and long queues formed at petrol stations.
Iranian media reported “possible damage” to a defense ministry site in Isfahan. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said Washington “had nothing to do” with the strikes but warned of using “the full strength and might” of the U.S. military if Iran targeted American interests. Trump also claimed, “we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!”
In Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, six people were killed in a missile strike. “It was a miracle we survived,” said resident Shahar Ben Zion.
Iran’s UN ambassador reported 78 killed and 320 injured from Israel’s initial assault. Israeli forces claimed to hit nuclear sites, fuel tankers, and top commanders. Iran’s top diplomat Abbas Araghchi said Israel “crossed a new red line” by attacking nuclear facilities and vowed further response if strikes continued.
