The 2025 French Open has been nothing less than impressive so far. The action continues in the third round at Roland-Garros, and I am back with more picks for our Best Bets series. Let me know if you agree with my picks in the comments.
French Open
Kasatkina – Badosa: Time 11:00
H2H: 4-3
Darya Kasatkina and Paula Badosa will meet for the eighth time in their careers in what should easily be the match of the day. While Kasatkina leads their rivalry 4-3, Badosa has the only victory at a Major. When it comes to playing on clay, they are 1-1. Badosa is in better form at the moment, and she’s 6-4 in her last ten. Kasatkina is 4-6 and hasn’t had much luck on clay this year.
Best Bet to Make
It’s not hard to see why the books have Kasatkina as the underdog in this match. Badosa is in better form and has had a better year. The only thing that worries me when it comes to Badosa is the fact that she’s already had two injuries this year, and both of them saw her out of action for at least three weeks, if not more. She’s only just recently returned to action from the second injury at Strasbourg. If Badosa can stay healthy, she’s fairly sure to win this match.
That being said, Badosa winning is a value bet for sure.

Jacquemot – Boisson: Time 11:00
H2H: 1-0
Regardless of what happens tomorrow in the match between Else Jacquemot and Lois Boisson, the country of France wins. These two young women are the future of French tennis, and surprisingly, they’ve only met once before. Boisson has been on an absolute wrecking spree at the ITF level. She’s 8-2 in her last ten matches and coming off a tournament victory in Saint-Gaudens. Else Jacquemot has been spending her time at the WTA level, and while she hasn’t won any tournaments, she’s managed to reach the quarterfinals in several tournaments on the clay circuit, including Antalya, Saint-Malo, and Paris. Jacquemot is 7-3 in her last ten matches.
Best Bet to Make
The books have Boisson as a pretty decent favorite in this match, and I’m not buying it. Jacquemot is already tested at this level, and she’s just as confident on clay as Boisson. Boisson might be tearing up the ITF, but Jacquemot put herself into the quarterfinals of WTA events. I do understand that Boisson is much better on clay, but the lion’s share of those wins are not coming at the WTA level. She’s never made it past the qualification stage of the French Open, but Jacquemot has at least made the second round.
That being said, Jacquemot winning is a value bet for sure.

Baptiste – Bouzas-Maneiro: Time 11:00
H2H: 0-1
Hailey Baptiste is going to be looking for revenge when she meets Jessica Bouzas-Maneiro for the second time in her career. Their last match in Morelia was an absolute classic in the finals. Going all three sets, including two sets that went to a tiebreak, including one that went past ten points. While that match took place on a hardcourt, Baptiste will be facing Bouzas-Maneiro on her preferred surface this time around. As good as Baptiste is on clay, Bouzas-Maneiro is better. Boasting a 2:1 ratio vis-à-vis wins and losses, Bouzas-Maneiro couldn’t have set herself up in a better position by design.
Best Bet to Make
There is a good reason the books are torn on this match. Both of these ladies are playing pretty well at the moment, and both are capable on clay. While Bouzas-Maneiro is a slight underdog, I still think she offers tremendous value for someone with her pedigree. Were it my money, I would still pick Baptiste in this match for the reason that she has been dialed in lately, but both women have beaten quality opponents en route to the third round. I think Baptiste learned something in her loss to Bouzas-Maneiro and will come out prepared enough to catch her off-guard.
That being said, Baptiste winning is a value bet for sure.
