Let’s get some reaction from Carlos Alcaraz, following his safe passage into the third round with victory on Court Philippe-Chatrier over Fábián Marozsán in four sets:
💬 “It was a great match. I started pretty well, really high confidence. Then he started to play really aggressively — but I stayed strong and then played a really good last two sets.
“Most of the time, I’m trying to think about nothing else but the joy of playing, playing on this kind of court. It’s amazing and I have to enjoy it, just trying to play good tennis and make the people happy to watch my matches.
“That’s the way I enjoy playing tennis.”
Alcaraz then signs off by saying that he had always wanted to do this…
He starts the chant that you will often hear between points, instigated from the stands of spectators across all the courts at Roland Garros.
Basically a bit of: “Ba-ba baa ba-ba ba ba-da-la…”
Followed by full participation with an: “Ole!”
Alcaraz nails it and the crowd follows his lead.
If that doesn’t show the fun Alcaraz is having here right now, nothing will.
