Community Gathers for Annual Airport Day 2025 at Fullerton Municipal Airport

The Fullerton Municipal Airport held Airport Day on Saturday, May 31, 2025 attracting hundreds of visitors. This annual event featured helicopters, vintage planes, and fire engines, all while bringing the community together.

There were various static and interactive displays, allowing visitors to see and photograph impressive aircraft. A model-making event encouraged creativity among children, and all activities were free for everyone. For added excitement, people could buy short helicopter and plane rides. Wings Café provided food to enhance the festive atmosphere.

The City of Fullerton showcased the airport’s history dating back to 1928. The airport is essential for regional operations, housing helicopters for the Orange County Fire Authority and California Highway Patrol. It also includes a training facility for the Civil Air Patrol, flight simulators for young pilots, and the Medivac helicopter medical flight center, along with Anaheim’s Angel One service.

Throughout the day, young future pilots like Maxwell tried out controls in different aircraft, while Emma painted her handprint on a plane. Aidyn and Avery explored a large helicopter, and volunteers like Denise Jennings prepared their Bonanza aircraft for tours. The Fullerton 99s Women Pilots displayed a Cessna 2-seater to promote female pilots offering training and scholarships.

Overall, it was a memorable event that highlighted the important role of the Fullerton Municipal Airport.
