CHENNAI: A massive concrete structure collapsed at a Chennai Metro Rail site near DLF Ramapuram on Thursday night, killing a two-wheeler rider and possibly injuring others. The victim’s identity is yet to be confirmed.Police said the biker was heading towards Porur when the segment, weighing an estimated 50 to 100 tonnes and built between two pillars to support the elevated track, came crashing down from a height of 20 feet.A few two-wheelers remain trapped under the debris, and rescue teams are moving in heavy equipment to clear the site and check for more casualties.Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is yet to respond.
