Amid the buzz surrounding Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit from ‘Hera Pheri 3’, Akshay Kumar has spoken up, reassuring fans that all is not lost. The actor expressed optimism about the film’s future, saying he’s hopeful that things will fall into place.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay said, “Whatever is happening is happening in front of you. Keeping my fingers crossed. I hope everything goes well.” He further added, “Everything will go well only. I know, for sure.”
Rawal’s decision to quit the film came as a shock to both fans and his co-stars. The actor had earlier announced on X that he was stepping away from ‘Hera Pheri 3’, but clarified that there were no creative differences with director Priyadarshan.
Speaking to Mid-day, he said, “I love Priyadarshan and have great respect and faith in him as a director… No amount of money compares to the love and respect of my audience. Right now, I just felt it is a role that I don’t want to do, that’s all.”
Following his exit, reports emerged that Akshay Kumar’s production banner had served Rawal a legal notice, claiming Rs 25 crore in damages. Pooja Tidke, joint managing partner at Parinam Law Associates, which represents Kumar’s banner, stated to PTI, “There have been expenses incurred towards the cast, the crew, senior actors, logistics, equipment, and the shooting of the trailer.”
Responding to the legal notice, Rawal tweeted on May 25, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is set to make his Telugu film debut with the mythological fantasy ‘Kannappa’, where he plays Lord Shiva. Also starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead and featuring appearances by Mohanlal and Prabhas, the film is scheduled to release on June 27, 2025.
