Mbappé Making Progress, But Still Doubtful for Club World Cup Semi-Final

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé is on the mend after a bout of acute gastroenteritis, but his availability for the Club World Cup semi-final remains uncertain.

The French forward was released from hospital on Wednesday and has since returned to the team’s hotel in Palm Beach, where he continues his recovery in isolation. While Mbappé has resumed light aerobic training — a key first step in his rehabilitation — he has yet to rejoin the main group for a full training session.

His condition is improving steadily, but the timeline remains tight. With just one day of training likely available to him before Sunday’s clash against Pachuca at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, the chances of him being included in the squad are still in doubt. Real Madrid are being cautious, and the decision will depend on how his body responds over the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Dani Carvajal is also sidelined. The veteran right-back is dealing with neck discomfort and has remained at the hotel as well, working with physiotherapists on a personalized recovery plan. His participation in the upcoming match is also uncertain.

Real Madrid are set to hold their final training session in Miami tomorrow before heading to Charlotte, but both players are likely to miss it. The medical team will continue to monitor them closely as the Club World Cup campaign intensifies.
