Rukmini Vasanth Joins Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s Film

When Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s film (NTR 31) was launched last year in August, there was no mention of the leading lady. But her name has been a constant source of speculation ever since. Even after Jr NTR commenced his portion of shooting earlier in April, still the filmmakers haven’t announced the name of the actress. But we have earlier reported that Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth has been handpicked to play the female lead in the action entertainer.

Rukmini Vasanth begins shooting in RFC

The makers of Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s film are yet to announce Rukmini Vasanth’s name officially as the lead lady. But the actress has commenced shooting for her part. She joined the film sets and started working at a specially built set at Ramoji Film City (RFC) in Hyderabad on Thursday. “This is Rukmini’s first schedule in the film, and the unit has extended a warm welcome to her. Jr NTR, Prashanth Neel and the entire crew welcomed her to the sets,” informs a source. The actress posted a few pictures on her Instagram that have a Tiger photo on her shirt and a caption, “Tiger Tiger burning bright.” And fans are predicting that she is symbolically hinting at joining the sets of Jr NTR’s film (Jr NTR is fondly called ‘young tiger’ by his fans) by posting pictures from the caravan.

Although Rukmini’s debut film in Telugu Appudo Ippudo Eppudo did not perform well at the box office, she managed to grab a prestigious film opposite Jr NTR. Prashanth Neel was reportedly impressed with her performance in the Kannada film Sapta Saagaradaache Ello and approached her. The director liked her expressive side and also cast her for the film Bagheera for which Prashanth gave the story. Rukmini is pinning hopes on Jr NTR’s film. She believes in taking rapid strides into Tollywood if her ‘substantial’ role in Jr NTR’s film finds success with the audiences. On the other hand, the actress is shooting for Tamil film, Madharasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, and directed by AR Mugugadoss. The action entertainer is slated for release in September.
