Tottenham hold talks to sign the ‘Swedish Messi’, Johan Lange could be about to secure a bargain deal

TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs to hold talks over a deal for Copenhagen starlet Roony Bardghji.

The 19-year-old is set to move this summer with his current deal with the Danish club due to expire in January.

Most top English clubs have looked closely at the teenager over the last couple of years, although his suitors are doing checks on his fitness as he has only just recovered from a serious knee ligament injury.

The Swedish youth star has held talks with clubs throughout Europe, including the likes of RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, Porto and Benfica.

Tottenham working on Roony Bardghji deal

Sources have confirmed to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that interest in England remains, and Tottenham Hotspur are one of those who are doing work on Roony Bardghji.

Tottenham’s interest in Bardghji is long-term, with the North London club having been keeping tabs on him since at least 2023.

Johan Lange could sign him for a potentially great value, given the fact that he has around just six months remaining on his current contract.

The 19-year-old suffered an ACL injury back in April 2024, which kept him sidelined until March earlier this year and that is why he is yet to secure his lucrative move away from the Superliga.

The Lilywhites are not the only club that remains keen on the winger, with Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester United having also had talks.

Bardghji has been dubbed ‘the Swedish Messi’, showing just how highly rated the teenager is and that is why Spurs remain keen on getting a deal done.

Roony Bardghji has already proven himself vs Premier League opposition

Bardghji has already proven himself against Premier League opposition as he netted in Copenhagen’s 4-3 win over Manchester United back in 2023.

The youngster scored a dramatic late winner in Denmark to defeat the Red Devils in the Champions League group stage.

The ball broke to Bardghji at the back post, who was able to thump the ball home from close range and beat Andre Onana.

Whichever club signs Bardghji is taking a gamble given his injury record, however, they would also be signing a major talent for a potentially solid price.
