Prayagraj: The Allahabad University (AU) has decided that admissions for 61 postgraduate (PG) courses will be conducted through its own portal instead of the govt’s Samarth Portal due to delays.“The Ministry of Education has been informed of this development and the admission guidelines are expected to be announced soon,” said AU PRO Prof Jaya Kapoor.However, the undergraduate admissions would continue to be processed through the Samarth Portal.AU conducted entrance exams for postgraduate courses in both online and offline modes between June 10 and June 13. Over 28,000 candidates appeared for these examinations. The university released the results, including PGAT-1, PGAT-2, IPS, LLB, LLM, and MCom, in a phased manner by June 27. Subsequently, the result data was sent to the Samarth Portal, and the admission process was supposed to begin on this platform.However, after 17 days of waiting with no progress on admissions from the Samarth Portal, university’s vice-chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava decided to bypass the portal and proceed with admissions through the university’s own online system.The university has updated its system and integrated the results data, and it will soon announce the admission process schedule, Prof Kapoor said.Meanwhile, director admission cell, Prof Jayant Pati said CUET-UG (2025) applicants desirous of seeking admission in undergraduate programme of the university and its constituent colleges shall register on Samarth Portal. Registration/ profile update and payment of registration fee can be done between July 16 and 26. The registration process will be conducted in two phases.
